Ms. Vawter's 4th Grade - Room 5

Ms. Vawter's Fantastic 4th Graders have had a very productive year thus far. We reached our goal of reading 100 books for "Scholastic's Classroom's Care". This means that 100 books will be donated to kids in need. This was a wonderful experience for the students to not only build their reading skills and increase their interest in reading, they also learned a valuable lesson about giving and reaching out to others in need.

Our Houghton-Mifflin Anthology has taken their reading to news heights as well! The 4th graders also know how to make predications, classify and categorize information, summarize and note important details.

They continue to amaze me with their Math skills. These students are experts at the MathBoard (they already now how to find the area of a triangle!). Graphing and algebra are just the tip of the iceberg of what these mathematicians can do. I'm impressed on a daily basis.
Want to know about magnets? Maybe what force means? Stop by our room and we can give you a special presentation.

Room 5 continues to exhibit a strong level of community by helping one another, standing up for what's right, and an incredible display of manners and social skills.

I couldn't be more pleased with this class. What a blessing it is to be here at Roosevelt. Stop by anytime to witness the magic!
Sincerely,
Ms. Vawter
