3rd Grade

Rooms 18 & 19

Our theme focus for Language Arts is Incredible Stories. In this theme, we read stories such as Dogzilla, The Mysterious Giant of Barletta, Raising Dragons, and The Garden of Abdul Gasazi. The students are using different comprehension skills: fantasy/realism, following directions, predict/infer, and monitor/clarify.

Students should practice their spelling words every day.

Multiplication and division are the popular words in Math. Students are learning that multiplication and division are connected through fact families. It is important that your children practice their multiplication facts EVERY day. A third grade standard is to memorize the multiplication tables.
Crayfish have crawled into our third grade classrooms to help us in our Science experiements in our Structures of Life unit. We will investigate the structures and the behaviors of the crayfish. After the unit is finished, the crayfish will become great pets to adopting families.

Parents, students, teachers, and the principal are a team.
Ask your children what they are learning. :)
